R & R Animal Sitting offers a convenient and stress free service for pets and their owners.
Our daily on-property visits begin with the first scheduled visit after your departure. Visits are provided at scheduled times thereafter while you are away. This service is an advantageous alternative to away-from-home boarding in that the animals are more comfortable because of not having to leave home and that in turn makes owners more comfortable. The animals feel safe and secure at home, whereas boarding can lead to changes in your animal such as not eating regularly, forgetting they are house broken and acting withdrawn (many times caused by unfamiliar noises and smells experienced at boarding facilities).
Arrangements will be made in advance to meet you and your pets and/or livestock so that we can get from you the necessary information to care for your animals in the best way possible. That includes idiosyncrasies and special needs. With that information we can design a service to fit your needs.
A pet sitter will visit your home: feed, exercise, play with and clean up after your pet. The sitter will spend time with your animals and administer any medication necessary. She will check on your animal’s well being. While at your home she will also provide valuable home security checks. Making your home look inhabited can include opening draperies, turning on lights at night, bringing in the newspaper and mail, and watering your plants.
Your sitter has thousands of hours experience in caring for pets and will be mindful of your pet’s safety and well being, paying attention to the animals’ behavior and actions.
Your animal’s sitter will take care to make sure your absence from home is not detected because of careless actions on her part. One thing that will be done is the magnetized vehicle door sign will be removed before arrival so that passers-by are not alerted to a possibility of the owners of the home being gone.
You are invited to call the cell phone number to check up on your pet and the progress of his/her/their care while you are away. We will call you to confirm you have returned, occasionally people get home later than planned.
Back up plans will be made in case of inclement weather or personal illness. That might include an additional trip to your home to make sure your pet has a moment outside without being in a storm. It might include taking your animal home with me if the weather is so bad that it won’t quit for hours at a time. That would be with your permission, of course. In case of illness, the other partner would be able to fill in where first person could not.
